A sunlit walk through the gardens of Monserrate.
an editorial-inspired engagement session full of laughter, tenderness, and timeless charm.
A soft afternoon light filtered through the ancient trees of Monserrate Palace, wrapping Rachael and Aaron in a gentle golden glow. Their engagement session felt like a peaceful walk through time, joyful, tender, and filled with effortless laughter.
This two-hour session was the perfect way to connect before their wedding day, just two days later. As a photographer, I always recommend an engagement session to every couple. It’s not only about the photos, it’s about creating trust and comfort in front of the camera, allowing authentic emotions to unfold naturally when the wedding day arrives.
Rachael and Aaron travelled all the way from the United States to celebrate their destination wedding in Portugal, guided by the talented team at Lisbon Wedding Planner. Their ceremony took place at the elegant Quinta do Torneiro, and before that, this engagement session allowed us to explore Sintra’s romantic gardens together.
We followed a path I had designed according to the light — a golden itinerary that showcased the lush greenery, the gothic arches, and the serene charm of Monserrate. The result? A gallery that blends natural joy with editorial touches, filled with genuine emotion and timeless elegance.
What I love most about engagement sessions like this is how they extend the visual narrative of a wedding. They offer the chance to tell another chapter of the couple’s story — often in a completely different setting from their wedding day. The soft, natural landscapes of Monserrate contrasted beautifully with the classic elegance of Quinta do Torneiro, creating a richer, more complete story of their destination celebration.
